The New Vibes Jazz Quartet began as a trio in the spring of 1999 and evolved into a quartet with the addition of Gary Tomlin on drums and is now celebrating 13 years of live jazz in the Waterloo Region.
The Quartet interprets jazz standards with a polished sound and fluid improvisation – witness Sugar and St. Thomas from their debut CD, Jazz at the Gallery. Their two percussionists provide an extensive range of rhythmic expression, and their brilliant solos with the two on one kit bring the house down.
