Saturday, June 16 – Shannon Gunn Quartet

Canadian jazz vocalist and composer Shannon Gunn is praised from Vancouver to Toronto for her evocative timbre and beautifully natural rhythm.

“Expressive, knowing and intimate voice with a sexy vibrato and rumpled edges, octave leaps and major league versatility, equally comfortable with swing, standards and vocalize.” – Geoff Chapman, Toronto Star.

CBC’s Neil Richie calls her “a singer with an instantly recognizable timbre and an incredibly natural rhythm… she is one of the few singers who is a ‘complete musician’.”.

Witness Shannon’s touching interpretation of Oxbol’s Frank Sinatra tribute.

Shannon will treat us to an evening of beautifully arranged standards spiced with Shannon’s funky originals in a quartet featuring Toronto greats Brian Dickinson on piano, Jim Vivian on bass and Ethan Ardelli on drums.
