F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

Special Price for Couple’s Pass?

Q) Can we get a special price on the annual pass for couples, families or other groups?
A) The annual pass is already being sold at a deep discount. Each pass is associated with an individual and is non-transferable.

Reserve Tickets?

Q) Can I reserve tickets for individual shows?
A) Tickets are available in advance via showpass. Tickets will be available at the door only when capacity limits allow. We encourage EARLY ticket purchasing to avoid disappointment.

Pass-holders Guaranteed a Spot?

Q) Are annual pass holders guaranteed a spot at every show during the year?
A) The Jazz Room typically works on a first-come-first-served basis. There is substantial capacity in the room (140 maximum). To ensure a seat please come early and we suggest arriving 30 minutes prior to show time, if you are concerned about getting a specific seat.

Talent Suggestions?

Q) Can I suggest names of groups I would like to see at The Jazz Room?
A) Yes. We would like to get your suggestions. Please email your suggestions to KWJazzRoom@yahoo.ca

Season Length?

Q) How long does your season (and Annual Pass) last?
A) Our season runs from September through June, presenting at least 80 shows each year.

Revenues?

Q) What does the cover charge pay for?
A) All revenues (grants, donations, sponsorships, cover charges, pass fees) go to pay the artists (after a few technical costs like sound and piano tuning). The Jazz Room is a volunteer-run organization. Next time you see a Jazz Room volunteer thank them, and give them a big hug (patience is also very welcome, we’re doing the best we can)!

Q) When do doors open for The Jazz Room?
A) Doors typically open at 6:30pm for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings.. For matinees, the doors will open at 3:00pm. Check event listings as some exceptions may apply.
