His tonal shape evokes sincere contemplation and complex moods. He is known for his tasteful use of rhythmic displacement and tonal choices that complement his melodic lines. David is widely considered to be one of Canada’s best jazz conceptualists, crafting lines that are inspired and original.

Guitarist/composer David Occhipinti has twice been nominated for a Juno award, once for his CD, Forty Revolutions (2007), and also for, Duologue (2003), his first of two duo CDs with saxophonist Mike Murley. His project “Camera” has met with critical acclaim that features an incredible breadth of composition and acoustic instruments.
