Equally at home at the keyboard as he is on lead vocals, Steve Amirault has a voice that instantly surrounds, and compels the listener to take note. Textured and finely burnished, Amirault’s beautiful baritone has a distinctive and deep old-soul feel, that is simultaneously fresh and interesting.
Based in Montreal, the multi-award winning pianist/singer has collaborated with the likes of Joe Lovano, Eddie Henerson, Ron McClure, Seamus Blake, Mike Murley and Ingrid Jensen. With multiple nominations for the National Jazz Awards, Amirault has also been featured on CBC Jazz Beat and toured internationally with various band formats. Joining Amirault on this outing will be long-time collaborators Ted Warren (drums) and Jim Vivian (bass). Promoting their new album to be released this fall, the band will perform a stellar mix of standards and original tunes.
