Tower of Song is a creative tribute to the music of Leonard Cohen, presented by two celebrated BC singer-songwriters: Juno award-nominee Oliver Swain and Glenna Garramone.

Join us for a night of rare and classic selections from the Leonard Cohen cannon celebrating the music of Canada’s greatest bard with original arrangements for two voices, banjo, string bass, piano and guitar. Together Swain and Garramone have crafted a unique sound that will resonate with both longtime Cohen fans and new audiences.

Featuring a set by special guest John Orpheus.

Short press quotes:

“Well, you might as well choose from the best songs out there, but then again you better put your own stamp on them and deliver the goods.  Oliver and Glenna do.  It’s a lovely album.  Thanks for being strong enough to carry it off with such aplomb.”
— Les Siemieniuk, Penguin Eggs: Canada’s Roots, Folk, and World Music Magazine

“The tunes are hauntingly lovely. Wonderful takes with close harmonies and violent re-rhythmings. Musically sound. Faithful by being strongly, creatively Cohen, and yet wholly their own.”
— James N. Porter, Professor Emeritus (Arts), York University

“The songs of In City And In Forest  are thoughtfully organized, meticulously arranged, and expertly performed. These covers hit the sweet spot […] and offer the listener a different and authentic perspective.  Their covers more resemble ballads than anthems (think early Simon and Garfunkel)… these richly melodious songs are endowed with dignity and significance.”
— Dr. H Guy, Leonard Cohen Online Journal
