The Caribbean Christmas Mixtape

Larnell Lewis currently plays and has recorded with musical artists Snarky Puppy and Laila Biali. He has also played with Fred Hammond, Michael Brecker, Matt Dusk, Robi Botos, Molly Johnson, Elizabeth Shepherd, Emilie-Claire Barlow, Barbra Lica and Tia Brazda.[9][12][13] He played on Snarky Puppy’s 2016 albums Culcha Vulcha, which won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album and Family Dinner – Volume 2. Lewis has also played on the JUNO Award-winning albums Clear Day by jazz singer Emilie-Claire Barlow, and Root Structure by jazz bassist Mike Downes.

Internationally lauded artist and composer Joy Lapps is an award-winning instrumentalist of Antiguan and Barbudan descent treats the steelpan as a tool for engagement. The Toronto native has performed alongside Stewart Goodyear, Roberto Occhipinti, Larnell Lewis and the Toronto Mass Choir, and recorded with Gramps Morgan, whose 2022 release Positive Vibration received a Grammy nod, Elmer Ferrer, Jeremy Ledbetter, Johnny Reid and Andy Narell. To date, Joy has issued five independent albums. Joy earned the 2014 Dr. Alice E. Wilson Award to support graduated studies from the Canadian Federation of University Women; the 2015 Caribbean Music and Entertainment Award as Top Steelpan Soloist from PenPro Productions; and the 2016 HUTTers Phenomenal Woman Award for Leadership in Community Arts.
