Robert Ball is a multi-disciplinary artist with vast experience in both singing and acting, on stage and on camera. Robert began his career in Toronto’s gospel circuit which led to him being a sought after session singer working with producers Promise (Montell Jordan, Drake), Saukrates (Nelly Furtado) and Ray Angry (The Roots).

Robert’s sound spans soul, neo-soul, jazz and easy listening – with a global audience, extensive list of tour dates, artist collaborations, and live broadcast appearances, his career has led him to fine-tune his inspirational and tranquil music. His 2017 debut EP ‘Need’ features his contemporary R&B-jazz style, purposeful lyrics and stories of love, heartbreak and flourishing.

As a solo artist and background vocalist Robert has been fortunate to share the stage with and open for; Mary Mary, Nikki Yanofsky, Keshia Chante, Mya, Kim Burrell, Big Freeda, among others. Robert is an artist who brings heart and passion to everything he does with “a voice that’s smooth as silk” (BroadwayWorld.com).

Robert is also widely recognized in the Canadian musical theatre industry, appearing in lead roles with Drayton Entertainment, Stratford Festival, Luminato Festival and Stagewest Calgary, to name just a few. Robert also believes as Nina Simone said “It is an artist’s duty to reflect the times…” and he gives back through mentoring and advocacy, including as a vocal tutorial coach for Sheridan College and a vocal coach / mentor / teaching artist with NIA Centre for the Arts.
