The “Jeru” Quartet: Music of the Legendary Chet Baker and Gerry Mulligan
Pol Coussée’s JERU-4-tet honours and celebrates the music of the Gerry Mulligan & Chet Baker quartet, that was established in the early 1950’s in Los Angelo’s, CA, and kickstarted the so called ” Cool Jazz” style of the West Coast.
Pol Coussee was born and raised in Belgium, moved to London England, and finally relocated to Toronto. He has performed internationally with show business legends Sammy Davis Jr, Shirley MacLaine, Liza Minnelli, Aretha Franklin and Elton John. The 4 seasoned veterans of the Toronto music scene will be performing the sounds of this unique chamber-jazz group of the early ’50’s.
