You’ll feel trapped in a sultry net, you won’t even try to escape” – Paola de Simone, Huffington Post

We are absolutely delighted to welcome the return of the spectacular and captivating Pilar to the Jazz Room Stage for the third time. This is a concert not to be missed! This concert will fall on the heels of Saturday’s concert at Koerner Hall.

Ilaria Pilar Patassini blends and combines Italian songwriting, jazz, world music, classical music, poetry and entertainment. With seven records published,  she’s one of the most esteemed Italian singers and songwriters. Along with her activity as a songwriter has established herself as a sought-after performing artist.

A graduate in Classical Singing and Vocal Chamber Music, she teaches “Performance of Italian and international songwriting” at the Accademia di Alta Formazione “Officina Pasolini” in Rome. A fervent devout of the sea and the islands, she spends her time between Rome, Alghero (Sardinia) and airport gates.
Since 2014 she has been touring around Canada with the guitarist and composer Michael Occhipinti and his “Sicilian Jazz Project” as well as her own repertoire.

“Ilaria Pilar Patassini has the strength and elegance of the best Italian songwriting world, that goes from the Opera to the cinema and jazz” Paolo Talanca, Avvenire

“The fact is that she’s not only a great singer who sings in many languages, and beautiful, but she’s an artist who can communicate directly with the audience”  Mervon Metha (Executive Director, Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto)
“Pilar is an exceptional singer and a powerhouse performer who commands your attention from beginning to end of show” Fiona Black (The Cultch, Vancouver)
