Elena Kapeleris is a Toronto-based saxophonist, vocalist, composer, bandleader, and educator who plays and sings a mixture of the Great American Songbook Standards and the Modern Jazz of the Storytellers…. from the Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Sonny Rollins, Lester Young, through to Abbey Lincoln, Wayne Shorter and Keith Jarrett songs. She has studied saxophone with world renowned saxophonist Pat LaBarbera at Humber College, composition with the great Don Thompson, and voice with Shannon Gunn.

Elena is currently a member of blues singer Rita Chiarelli’s touring band, Yetunde Ajasin’s Afrika Libre, Kellylee Evan’s band, Jully Black’s group, and others. She has played Massey Hall and the National Ars Centre in Ottawa multiple times with the Women’s Blues Revue.
