Emily Steinwall is a multi instrumentalist and songwriter based in Toronto, Canada. Though Emily has spent the last few years focusing on her original music, her roots run deeply in the jazz tradition. She learned to play standards when she was a teenager, with her grandparents Jack and Carol Long. She then went on to study saxophone with the likes of Kirk Macdonald and Pat Labarbera at Humber college, graduating in 2017 and received multiple awards and accolades for her work as a saxophonist. She was named one of CBC’s “35 best Canadian jazz artists under 35”.
She has performed on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Austin City Limits, and performed on world renowned stages, including Madison Square Garden, Scotiabank Arena (formerly the ACC), and at MTV’s European Music Awards.
