The jack hammer is back in the jazz room! Glenn Buhr’s decorated career in composition and piano performance has spanned genres from symphonic and film to the jazz quartet.  His extensive discography features Thru the Wounded Sky, a gripping textural work that has become a signature for Glenn’s jazz style.

His melodies are wonderfully evocative, from poundingly percussive Jackhammer to hymn-like Steal Away, fully fleshed out with carefully voiced harmonies or even well-orchestrated accompanying lines. Buhr’s sense of composition and structure ultimately makes this an exceptional outing.” – The Globe and Mail

The sets will feature some Monk, Charlie Park, an acoustic Jackhammer, and that touch of country to feature Victor’s vocals.  Do I hear Django in the drummerless guitar mix?

The Button Factory Band
   Glenn Buhr, piano/guitar/vocals
   Mike Anderson, guitar/vocals
   Victor Bateman, bass/vocals

The Button Factory Band performs original songs and creative reverent remixes of blues, jazz and country classics.  The band’s live sound is highly energized – often wildly unpredictable – mixing precisely arranged songs with pure improvisation. Glenn Buhr’s songs are an eclectic and imaginative exploration of blues, jazz and country. His exciting live jazz remixes of blues, folk and rock classics manage to morph familiar music by the likes of Bob Dylan, Thelonious Monk, Jimmy Page, Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix into wonderful new musical structures.
