Kitchener native Jonathan Chapman brings his trio to the Jazz Room for a return appearance. The Jonathan Chapman Trio are rare standouts of their generation. Displaying a rich understanding of the Jazz tradition, the ensemble delivers a diverse program that includes hard-swinging standards and under-performed favourites to the listeners’ delight. The trio features the powerhouse rhythm section of Lucian Gray on guitar and Nobert Botos on drums. For this concert, the ensemble will be joined by the fabulous Laura Anglade, who has been making waves in the Canadian Jazz scene. Her influences include Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Etta Jones, Anita O’Day, Chet Baker and Blossom Dearie. Her debut record, “I’ve Got Just About Everything”, was released on Justin Time Records in June 2019, and has been met with praise by critics and fans alike.
