After 25 years committed to a vision influenced by his culturally diverse world, Dominic Mancuso sees himself sitting at the table with the 21st century and the global village. His resume takes in several CDs, as well as several written scores for TV, films and theatre performances, numerous artistic collaborations and a great number of live shows in Canada and abroad. After actively promoting Comfortably Mine, his Juno and Canadian Folk Music awarded ‘World Music Album of the Year‘, the Dominic Mancuso Group was born with a European tour.
He continues to build his international profile with his upcoming 2022 record release. This collaboration, with the Italian pianist arranger, Vittorio Mezza. sees Mancuso pushing his sound towards a soulful blend of singer-songwriter meets classical and jazz. Keeping all his world elements intact, this Mancuso | Mezza: Dances In My Mind project reveals his most ambitious work yet! They arranged Mancuso’s compositions with the expansion of a chamber ensemble; invigorating the far reaching capabilities of the music while pushing the Dominic Mancuso Group and the chamber ensemble towards a rich and passionate contemporary body of work.
After studying classical music, Vittorio Mezza graduated with honors in Jazz Music at the S. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. He has played in Canada, USA, Germany, France, Cameroon, Switzerland, Croatia, Ungheria, France, Japan, Armenia, South Africa and Australia and is invited to represent Italy at numerous Italian Cultural Institutes and Embassies around the world. He has recorded many CDs as a leader and has written several publications. His music is heard all over the world and selected from the jazz records of the ALITALIA airlines.
As composer, arranger and pianist, he has led several projects including Dances In My Mind with Dominic Mancuso in Canada, Convergence – Mezza Ginsburg Ensemble with Mark Ginsburg in Australia and South Africa (this project was selected as Best CD of the Year in the Jazz Awards category “Best CDs of 2018” by the Indie Acoustic Project, United States of America).
Among Vittorio’s strongest talents is performing in piano solo: he played several concerts all over the world arranging both original music and movie soundtracks, rock music, theatre, classical, pop, and his beloved jazz He has collaborated for many years with the Italian Rai Radio Television. Currently active in the academic field, he holds the Chair of Jazz Piano at the State Music Conservatory of Frosinone.
