Informed by the traditions of bluegrass, country, old-time, and Americana, The Boys have crafted their unmistakable sound into a joyful and deeply soulful musical experience.
The Barrel Boys’ most recent release, Mainline, earned the band a nomination for “Vocal Group of the Year” at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and it features a full complement of the band’s original material. Over the course of this full-length album they explore some of the classic themes of bluegrass – heartbreak, travel, trains, industry, and an escape from urban life – but with stories drawn from their own experiences or from scenes they have observed in their travels across Canada.
