Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Thompson Egbo-Egbo is a pianist with a gift for memorable but harmonically complex compositions that have at their core a deep, abiding groove.
A rambunctious and free spirit was channeled in a creative direction with piano lessons at an inner-city music school. After graduating from high school, Egbo-Egbo earned a degree in Music from Humber College and studied electronic production and design at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Known for their genre-bending approach, the trio blends deep grooves, rich harmonies, and cinematic storytelling. With dynamic originals and bold reimagining of familiar tunes, their performances are both emotionally charged and rhythmically compelling. A must-see for fans of modern jazz with soul and edge. They recently released as a trio their 5th project together, Oddly Familiar Vol III, through the global record label and music sync company the Audio Network. The group will be playing tunes from their current catalogue and some from their upcoming record due to be released in the summer of ‘26. Featured members include Jeff Halischuk (drums), Randall Hall (bass), and Thompson Egbo-Egbo (pianist/band-leader).
