This show took place on January 6, 2012. See what’s coming up at The Jazz Room.
Tim Louis first studied under jazz great Kenny Barron, earning a BA in Music from Rutgers before moving to the New York scene, eventually working alongside the iconic Teo Macero (Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Count Basie). Tim is known for his interpretations of a broad range of music through a jazz filter.
On vocals, Tim’s sensitive vocal lead is reminiscent of Nat King Cole, and his beguiling phrasing on keyboard rings through in this performance of All Because Of You.
Tim’s website features a sample of his recent release Snowflakes in Bloom that offers touches from Latin to swing.
