Canadian jazz pianist Bernie Senensky has twice received JUNO nominations for Best Jazz Album including signature compositions like Lolito’s Theme and Blues for E.J.
His stellar performances with jazz legends include Moe Koffman, Oscar Petersen, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, Rob McConnell’s Boss Brass, the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra, and the Elvin Jones Quartet.
“Bernie’s style just sparkles with a lightness and playfulness that makes his solos so easy and fun to listen to. You don’t have to reach for anything; it’s there.” – jazzprofiles.com
Joining Bernie on piano are Morgan Childs on drums, Duncan Hopkins on bass, and an amazing rising star on trumpet – Brian Chahley. The sets will focus on Bernie’s own compositions and arrangements, as well as music written by Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Hutcherson, Mccoy Tyner and Joe Henderson.
